Mixed Tocopherols are a natural antioxidant used for the preservation of fats, oils and protein meals. They are made up of a mixture of four isomers present in Vitamin E: alpha tocopherol, beta tocopherol, gamma tocopherol and delta tocopherol.
Delta and gamma isomers are the most effective antioxidants for food preservation. As a result they make up the biggest portion of the mix. However, a concentration of 50% or higher alpha is required to make a Vitamin E claim.
