UV Stabilizers

UV stabilizers contain compounds that can absorb, reflect or scatter UV light. As CASE and plastic materials receive continuous exposure to harmful UV radiation, stabilizers work to convert that energy into heat and extend the product’s lifespan—but UV stabilizers alone don’t solve the whole problem.

Antioxidants

As CASE and plastic materials are exposed to more and more UV light, the polymers that make up those materials begin to break down, making them weaker. Antioxidants bond with those broken chains to ensure no undesirable side products are created as a result of UV degradation. Without those antioxidants, the problem quickly snowballs, causing the product to wear exponentially faster. When antioxidants are included, they prevent that effect and keep the surface from oxidizing and exhibiting unwanted appearance or physical properties.
